The International Center for Evaluation and Development (ICED), the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana, the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Markets, Risks and Resilience at the University of California, Davis, and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) have announced the 7th African Evidence to Action Conference and Exhibition.
The Evidence to Action 2024 conference (E2A2024), themed “Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation”, will take place from July 22 to 26, 2024, at the ISSER Conference Hall, University of Ghana, Accra. The event kicks off with pre-conference sessions, starting from July 22 to 23, 2024, and the main conference, from July 24 to 26, 2024.
This year’s theme will explore the linkages and synergies between resilience and climate change adaptation, two key concepts essential for addressing the impacts of climate change, especially in Africa.
The event will bring together experts, policymakers, researchers, academics, civil society organizations, international development agencies and business leaders from over 40 countries to discuss innovative research and practical solutions for climate change challenges in Africa.
Key speakers include Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ghana; Ophelia Mensah Hayford, Minister, MESTI; Dr. Emmanuel Marfo, Chair, Parliamentary Select Committee on Environment and Science; Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Head of Civil Service; Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante, Pro Vice Chancellor of Research, Innovation and Development, University of Ghana; Dr. Namanga Ngongi, ICED Board Chair and other esteemed experts from the fields of climate action, environment, and development.
Topics include Intersectionality and Climate Justice, New Approaches to Resilience Measurement and Evaluation, Youth and Climate Action, Climate Smart Agricultural Innovations, Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance, and the Circular Economy.
