In a media launch, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, Advisor to the Minister of Works and Housing and Chairman of the BENCHH 2024 Planning Committee, unveiled details about the upcoming Built Environment National Conference on Housing and Hydrology (BENCHH 2024).
The landmark event, slated for May 27-29, aims to foster collaboration and innovative solutions to Ghana’s pressing housing deficit and hydrology issues.
Addressing a room brimming with media personnel, stakeholders, and directors from the built environment sector, Dr. Armah emphasized the conference’s pivotal role in shaping the nation’s sustainable development trajectory. “BENCHH 2024 represents an opportunity for all of us to share insights and chart a course towards a more sustainable and resilient future for Ghana’s Works and Housing Sectors,” he stated.
Under the overarching theme “Enhancing Collaboration to tackle Ghana’s Housing and Hydrology Challenges,” the three-day conference will serve as a comprehensive platform to engage with the public, showcase the Ministry’s strides, and outline a roadmap for robust and sustainable public works and housing infrastructure development.
“The policy formulation and its subsequent efficient implementation stand as the fundamental pillars upon which a nation’s development is built,” Dr. Armah asserted. “In this respect, the role of the Ministry of Works and Housing in guaranteeing and safeguarding the establishment of sustainable housing and infrastructure developments cannot be overemphasized.”
Highlighting the Ministry’s diverse responsibilities, which span from addressing the housing deficit to enhancing flood-resilient infrastructure and regulations, Dr. Armah underscored the significance of its endeavors in shaping the path of national development.
