Duapa Werkspace supports sustainable start-ups

Duapa Werkspace has supported five start-ups with an investment capital of GH¢31,000.00, following successful pitches of their business concepts.

Out of nine aspiring start-ups, innovators, and individuals who presented their innovations and distinctive business models aimed at fostering job creation, Duapa Werkspace selected five to receive a total investment capital of GH¢31,000.00.

SY Electronics, the champion, received a cheque worth GH¢20,000.00, with the 1st Runner-up, Lantos Creative Concept, securing GH¢5,000.00, and the 2nd Runner-up, Cas Glue Ltd, receiving GH¢3,000.00 in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The 3rd runner up, Mushroom Hive, received GH¢2,000.00, and the 4th runner up also received GH¢1,000.00.

This opportunity arose at the Duapa Werkspace Startup 2024 event in Takoradi, under the theme “Sustainable Future: Nurturing Green Innovation in the Digital Age.”

Topics discussed included “Effective Bookkeeping for SMEs to Access Financing Opportunities, Entrepreneurial Hustle, Circular Business Models for Sustainability, Sustainable Futures: Nurturing Green Innovation, and Available Support Systems for SMEs and Startups in the Western Region”.

Erasmus Mensah Ackon, Chief Executive of Duapa Werkspace, stressed that unemployment continues to be a major hurdle for numerous youths across the country.

Stephan Abass Miezan, 2nd Vice President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), commended Duapa Werkspace for unearthing the talents of the youth as well as supporting their businesses.

He highlighted that there have been changes in the digital space, emphasizing the importance for businesses to stay updated with the latest developments.
