Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mansa Holdings, George Yaw Owusu, has advised budding entrepreneurs to prioritise ethical behaviour to ensure long-term success in their ventures.
Addressing students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Entrepreneurship Clinic organised by the Centre of Business Development (CBD), Mr. Owusu noted that integrity is fundamental in today’s competitive business landscape.
He explained that beyond innovation, building trust and credibility within the market is crucial for sustainable ventures.
“Entrepreneurship goes beyond creating innovative products or services; it’s about establishing trust and credibility. Integrity is the cornerstone of sustainable ventures, whether it’s maintaining honesty with customers, suppliers or investors,” stated Mr. Owusu.
Mr. Owusu further elaborated that integrity extends to organisational culture, emphasising that leaders who embody ethical behaviour inspire loyalty among employees and foster a positive work environment conducive to productivity and innovation.
He cautioned that without integrity, success becomes fleeting and reputations tarnish, noting that ethical lapses can lead to business failures.
Meanwhile, Dr. Samuel Yaw Akomea, Head of the Centre for Business Development at KNUST, encouraged students with business ideas to seek assistance from the centre, which provides support free of charge. He cautioned students to be cautious about sharing their ideas, warning against potential theft or exploitation.
