Women in PR Ghana (WiPR) is excited to unveil the Top 10 Women in PR for the year 2023.
This prestigious recognition, which is in its 7th year, celebrates the remarkable contributions of women in the field of Public Relations, highlighting their innovative strategies, impactful campaigns and dedication to the growth of the industry.
The selected Top 10 PR Women have demonstrated expertise, leadership and commitment to excellence in shaping the PR landscape in Ghana and the African continent. They have also gone the extra mile to position themselves as the driving force behind innovative strategies, and communications efforts that support their business goals.
The Top 10 PR Women in Ghana for 2023 are:
- Gifty Bingley, (Senior Communications Officer / Head of Public Information – AMISOM/ATMIS African Union)
- Ivy Heward-Mills, (Director, Center for International Education and Collaboration, UPSA, Accra)
- Shirley Tony Kum, (Corporate Communications Manager, Vivo Energy, Shell)
- Georgina Fiagbenu, Head, Corporate Communications, MTN Ghana
- Paulina Kuranchie, (Corporate Communications Lecturer and Consultant)
- Praise Nutakor, (Head of Communication and Partnership (UNDP, Ghana)
- Emma Wenani, (Chief Director, Global Media Alliance Group)
- Maame Akua Twum Ankrah, (Communications Coordinator for Anglophone West and North Africa, Afrobarometer)
- Laila Abukari, (External Communications Manager, Electricity Company of Ghana)
- Sandra Amarquaye, (Communications Specialist, Karpowership Ghana)
In the 2023 edition of the Top 10, Women in PR Ghana received 46 nominations from the PR community. A five-member jury with industry expertise and credibility reviewed and shortlisted the entries based on a set of criteria, including six years of public relations or communication practice and experience, planning and execution of successful campaigns for their organisations and/or clients and extensive usage of multiple channels – traditional and new media – to share their works as Public Relations professionals.
The others are previous recognition through nominations and awards on their own behalf or on behalf of their organisations or clients engaged in speaking opportunities, mentored, educated and supported other PR professionals, led and championed Public Relations campaigns with national and international appeal.
Joyce Ahiadorme, President of Women in PR Ghana, noted that the announcement is an opportune moment to reflect on the profound contribution and significance of women shaping the business environment and nurturing brands that attract the affection and loyalty of its target markets.

Josephine Nyamekye Sanny, member of the Top 10 Women in PR Jury, said: “WiPR will continue to use the listing to spotlight various women excelling within the industry. Utilising social and traditional platforms to share their campaigns and contributions to the business goals is a key criterion that most professionals must develop. We believe this recognition will help us improve on the use of emerging platforms to communicate the impact we are making as professionals”.
The Top 10 recognition forms part of Women in PR Ghana’s commitment to amplifying the voices and contributions of women leaders in the communications and PR industry.
