Finance Minister Ofori Atta ousted in major reshuffle

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced a significant ministerial reshuffle on Wednesday, February 14, resulting in the removal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.

Mohammed Amin Adam has been nominated to replace him.

The restructuring impacted around 13 current ministers of state, comprising 10 cabinet ministers and two regional ministers.

“The President personally expressed his sincere appreciation directly to each of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who have exited Government, for their commitment, competence, dedication and hard work in office, which helped in the realization of Government’s mandate to the Ghanaian people over the last seven years, and wished each of them well in their future endeavours,” the Communication Directorate of the Jubilee House said in a statement.

President Akufo-Addo has since submitted to Parliament, for prior approval, through the Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the names of new people  for appointment as news Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, in accordance with articles 78, 79 and 256, respectively, of the Constitution:
