FBNBank takes steps to empower SMEs

In line with its agenda of empowering the Small and Medium-scale Enterprise (SME) sector, FBNBank has announced that it is organising a series of SME fairs for businesses in that segment – aimed at fostering growth and attracting potential customers to patronise their products and services.

The SME fairs will be opportunities to support businesses of the bank’s customers in that segment, as they will offer platforms to showcase their products and services. It will also benefit customers who visit the branches by hosting the fairs, as they will get an opportunity to see the products and services being exhibited and hopefully make purchases.

The FBNBank SME fairs come in two editions; the first one is scheduled to take place from 12th to 16th December 2023 at the Atomic Branch, with the second one taking place simultaneously at the Dome, Santa Maria and Tema Hospital Road branches from 19th to 23rd December 2023.

In addition to exhibitions and sales, the fairs are structured to offer a networking opportunity for participants and visitors. FBNBank will also offer business advisory services and training to participants as part of its efforts to address financing challenges hindering their growth and development.

Commenting on the upcoming SME fairs, Victor Yaw Asante, FBNBank Ghana’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said: “SMEs are the lifeline of any economy, contributing significantly to employment and economic growth. Earlier this year, in August, FBNBank held a SME Clinic at the African Regent Hotel under the theme ‘Accelerating Growth of Your SME Business through FBNBank’. This event was very well-attended a precursor to the SME fairs, as it offered the bank an opportunity to garner feedback from SMEs in addition to offering bespoke solutions to their peculiar challenges.

Over the past few years, FBNBank has received SME category awards in recognition of the bank’s support to SMEs and its general endeavourd to grow the sector – with the most recent recognition being the ‘Best SME Banking Brand’ at the 2022 Global Brand Awards ceremony, held at the Dubai Palm Jumeirah – Waldorf on 10th December 2022. FBNBank has also made conscious efforts at getting closer to SMEs by expanding its branch network. recently, the bank has opened new branches at Abossey Okai, Atomic Junction, Abeka Lapaz, East Legon and lately the Tema Hospital Road.
