Stores in Achimota Retail Centre (Achimota Mall) give shoppers a 24-hour head start as they prepare to slash down prices of a wide range of goods on Thursday, ahead of a highly anticipated Black Friday shopping bonanza, Mall Management announced.

“Our stores are extremely excited about this year’s Black Friday….and most of them plan to kick-off early Thursday with trade deals and offers throughout the weekend till Monday,” Olivia Torpey, ARC Centre Manager, told reporters.

Random checks with a number of shops at the mall confirmed a readiness to dazzle shoppers and patrons with surprising offers right from Thursday, November 23.

For instance, Hisense – the domestic appliances specialist – says it simply cannot wait till Friday to do deals and so has set up to open its doors for customers to new seasonal offers and discounts.

Come Friday and throughout the rest of the weekend, Shoprite – Ghana’s most popular grocery store – will offer up to 50 percent price slashes on many food items. Furthermore, as a gesture of appreciation to its Achimota mall customers for loyalty over the past year, LC Waikiki – the top global fashion retail brand – has announced a string of discounts on all items in its store, including a stunning buy-three-get-one-free deal.

Compu-Ghana, on the other hand, has unwrapped a new package of discounts for shoppers on its Samsung, LG, TLC and other home appliance brands. In addition, the store is running a scratch-and-win promotion in which shoppers stand the chance of winning amazing gifts and freebies just by shopping on Black Friday.

“Over the years, we have come to bond well enough with our customers and patrons and therefore, we can boast of having a fair idea of what they usually want from us .…..and how they want it delivered. Black Friday has always been a shoppers’ carnival at our centre so; this year, we have decided to spice up the entire experience by spicing up the shopping ambience with some quality entertainment and recreational attractions,” the Centre Manager said.

The ‘spicing’, as it turns out, includes an exciting live outdoor broadcasting platform to be mounted by Okay FM and hosted by Achimota Mall’s long-time friend, Abeiku Santana, in the open-air parking enclave of the mall.

“But beyond all the entertainment and fanfare, the real purpose of a sale like Black Friday is to enable our customers to derive the benefit and satisfaction of good deals and bargains. We and our tenants acknowledge this fact very well. That is why we’re launching early and are doing everything to ensure that every visit to the centre is rewarding and pleasurable for all our shoppers,” said Ms. Torpey.

“What makes this year’s Black Friday so special is that our stores present quite a wide variety of deals and offers for shoppers. The stores are heavily stocked for the season and are fired up for the big sale. We are determined to make this year’s Black Friday a far more memorable experience than ever before,” the manager said.

Achimota Retail Centre is located at Dome, off the Accra-Nsawam highway and serves a large cluster of communities in the Ga East Municipality. Over the past eight years, the centre has brought modern, convenient and safe one-stop shopping to families residing in the south-eastern quarter of Accra, including the Kwabenya and Ashongman Estates, Tantra Hills, Ofankor, Dome and the Achimota township.
