Evoke Impact, a company that produces highly-focused thought leadership summits to tackle the urgent issues most crucial to industry stakeholders, has announced the opening of entries for the inaugural Ghana Sustainability Reporting Awards (GSRAs), also known as the Top 50 Sustainability/ESG Disclosure Companies.

The Ghana Sustainability Reporting Awards designed to identity the top sustainability/ESG reports in Ghana which are published by publicly listed and private companies across a variety of industry sectors. The ratings are once-in-a-year opportunity for all types of organisations to build trust and awareness amongst their stakeholders, with the overarching objectives to grow into a leading sustainability/ESG disclosure database in Ghana and to encourage organisations to take up public environmental and sustainability reporting to increase their accountability and responsibility to their stakeholders.

“As the world races towards achieving net-zero and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030, sustainability reporting is seen as a tool for fostering responsible corporate behaviors around social and environmental and governance disclosures.

The Ghana Sustainability Awards proactively aims at applauding the efforts of the companies who have demonstrated immense commitment to the fundamental principles of accountability and transparency, but most importantly, to  provide guidance to other entities that are publishing or intend to publish environmental or sustainability reports”, said William Adom Amarlai, CEO of Evoke Impact.

The GSRAs are open to publicly listed and private companies that publish sustainability reports or integrated reports. The Ratings are based on internationally recognised metrics and KPIs beyond financial information and governance disclosures. Entries will be accepted for the most recent report published by an organisation.

An independent Advisory & Awarding Board, chaired by Rukayatu Sanusi, Executive Director of Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) will assess the entries and rate the top 50 reports.

The GSRAs will climate the 2nd Future of Sustainability Summit where visionaries and thought leaders would gather to discuss the nuances of sustainability issues and co-create solutions on the evening of 28 November 2023 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel  in Accra.

Interested companies are invited to email their reports to [email protected] latest November 10, 2023.
