The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) 2022/23 batch of National Service Personnel (NSP), supported by the company, has inaugurated the Prestea Spring Water Project in Prestea, Western Region, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
The project, dubbed ‘The Prestea Spring Water Project’, offers some solutions to the water challenges Prestea Heman community has been grappling with. The project features two water reservoirs connected to a spring-water source within the forest. It is a testament to the NSPs’ dedication and community spirit.
The project was executed at a cost of GH₵80,000 and consists of a 10,000-litre capacity water storage facility that has two overhead reservoirs, four water-outlets and an in-built connection enabling clean and safe access to the natural spring water for residents.
This facility has undergone testing, and the water been certified as safe for human consumption by Ghana Water Company.
Emily Otoo, Manager-HR Operations, extended warm greetings from management at the event. She emphasised the profound impact of projects like this on the communities in which GRIDCo operates.
Nana Nteboa Prah IV charged the District Assembly and youths of the community to safeguard this precious gift. He expressed profound gratitude and called upon GRIDCo to extend more CSR projects to the area.
The Prestea Spring Water Project marks a significant milestone in GRIDCo’s journey of community engagement and project delivery by its NSPs over the last six years.
