The Ghana Outstanding Young Women Awards (GOWA) 6th edition have been held in Accra.
Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) have for five years celebrated women who devote their time to the welfare of humanity and are impacting their societies or individual lives.
Ms. Juana A. Boateng, a young entrepreneur, columnist of the B&FT and youth activist, was honoured as the Young Ghanaian Entrepreneur for 2023. She has also impacted by promoting education through her philanthropic programme that supports brilliant young people through their education.
Among those who were honoured was the veteran entertainer Adjoa Smart; the Mayor of Accra, Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey; MzGee of UTV; Endurance Grand; Nabella
Couture; Nana Ama Dokua-Asiamah Adjei; Wendy Shay; Indian women association; Roselyn Ngissah; and Adizah Kuburah Braimah among others.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of ASKOF Productions Limited – organiser of the GOWA awards – Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum applauded women for contributing their quota toward growth in every sector.
Touching on the theme ‘Encouraging Women to Take up Leadership Roles’, she urged women to continue their hard work and commitment toward everything they do. The event recognised notable people like Gifty Anti, Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokunu), Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay), Ohemaa wo y3 je and Nana Ama Mcbrown among others.
