ASA Savings and Loans Ltd. has extended its social gesture to the Prampram Senior High School by providing items to support teaching and learning in the school.
Items donated were a boardroom office desk, an office drawer set, a swivel chair, two board chairs, three office chairs, an HP 3-in-1 Printer machine, four pieces of 240 litres waste bins as well as two packs of A4 sheets.
This was in response to an appeal made by the school through the Prampram Branch of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd.
The Area Manager, Mr. Richmond Afari Hayford, during the presentation, said: “This is part of our company’s corporate social responsibility, and we hope these items will support the teachers to improve on the quality of teaching and learning”.
The Branch Manageress of the company at Prampram, Madam Mary Colette Arthur, assured them of the company’s continued support to the school and the community at large.
The Assistant Headmistress–Administration at the Prampram Senior High School, Ms. Vivian Ashanti explained that the school, which was established in the year 2005, lacks a lot of infrastructure to ensure effective teaching and learning and that the donation from the company is timely. “The dustbins, in particular, will help with the segregation of waste and improve on sanitation in the school,” she added.
Also, the presentation coincided with the company’s final tree-planting exercise for the year, which intends to tackle climate change. In all, about 100 tree seedlings were planted. Neem tree, militia, royal palm and rain tree were the type of species.
The CSR Manager of the Company, Richard Nartey, encouraged other corporate organisations to emulate ASA’s benevolence and extend assistance to schools and health facilities across the country.
