ASA Savings and Loans Ltd, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has donated equipment worth thousands of cedis to the Laterbiokoshie Presby Junior High School (JHS) in the Ablekuma Central Municipality and Mamprobi Hospital in the Ablekuma West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The donation, was done in response to an appeal made by the two the institutions to the company, to enable them deliver services in a more effective and efficient manner.

At Laterbiokoshie Presby JHS, a high-resolution projector and a rechargeable speaker were donated to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The headmistress of the school, Mrs Vida Osaebea expressed gratitude to ASA Savings and Loans for the quick respond in the request made.

“I am elated, several request to other corporate bodies, the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) and philanthropists couldn’t yield any fruitful result; I have over 400 students in the Junior High School and ICT, is a mandatory requirement of the curriculum for them. As there aren’t enough computers to be able to illustrate things taught in ICT, the projector and speaker were the last resort to mitigating this challenge” she said.

The branch manageress of the company in the enclave, Madam Rhoda Ahenkorah, reiterated the company’s commitment to giving back to society.

At Mamprobi Hospital, the company donated a multi-purpose photocopier machine to enable the facility be able to deliver the digitalization drive been spearheaded by the Ghana Health Service.

The medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Charlotte-Alberta Cato praised the company for their kind gesture and appealed to the company to reach out to them again by renovating their incinerator which is in a deplorable condition.

“Our incinerator is not in good shape and is currently posing environmental challenges to the facility and the surrounding residents as well as homes, as it emits a lot of fumes into the atmosphere affecting climate change” she said.

Mr. Richard Nartey CSR/Climate Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited said, “the company’s objective now and the future, is to support the government in improving education and health of citizens; that is why as part of our CSR, we are supporting these institutions”.
