MTN supports Bakatue Festival

MTN Ghana has presented cash of GH¢ 10,000.00, Airtime worth GH¢1000, drink hampers, and souvenirs to the Effutu Traditional Area.

The donation is towards the celebration of the Bakatue Festival in the Central Region, with the theme ‘buying and using Made in Ghana goods to create jobs.

At a brief ceremony, Francis Gyang, Manager for MTN Central Region, who made the donation for Prince Owusu Nyarko South-West Business District Senior Manager said “The celebration of Bakatue festival, is very important to us as a company and I am honored to be here today to mark the Bakatue Festival with you all”.

“Made in Ghana”. At MTN, this is exactly what we have been striving to do. We have invested in Ghanaian products and services that can boost our economy and support our people.

He said the theme for this year’s celebration cannot be over-emphasized. “In our country, unemployment is a serious and ever-present issue. Our youth are in need of jobs and they are looking for opportunities where to take their creative and entrepreneurial spirit.”

“We hope it will serve as a reminder of the importance we place on keeping this bond alive and strong.

This festival has also provided us with a chance to reflect on the progress we have made so far together and to reaffirm our commitment to continuing with the important partnerships created here” he added.

Nana Kodwo Condua VI, Oman of Edina Traditional Area, received the donation on behalf of the council at a ceremony held at the Elmina Palace.
