The entire financial sector is home to experienced and seasoned industry experts who possess strong professional records, experience and insights in the industry.

Over the years, I have noted with a bit of concern where all these hands-on rich veins of knowledge and experience go after retiring. The curiosity and desire to pass on these experiences and knowledge to the next generation have led Dr. Carl Odame-Gyenti to conclude that it is important to catalogue his experiences to not only facilitate the education and grooming of the next generation of business leaders, but also to be a resourceful reference material to guide these professionals as they go along their journeys

In this maiden book titled ‘Dare to Dream, Solving Africa’s Challenges with Cognitive Ideas’, Carl looks at harnessing his experiences along his professional journey with the sole aim of inspiring young industry professionals across the continent to refocus their minds in tackling the myriad challenges facing the African Continent today. By inspiring these young professionals, he firmly believes that unlike times past readers will have a much easier reference material that proffers solutions to many of these questions which tease curiosity.

This edition is the first in a series of compilations that he hopes to publish in the coming years, mainly drawing from his published articles, features and academic texts over the years.  In this 483-page edition, the book a covers topics ranging from Banking, Finance, Investment, Fintech and Lifestyle. The areas selected for this book are excerpts from related articles he published between 2018 and 2023.

The book consists of Fifty (55) chapters. In Chapter One (1), he addresses the subject of Bonds. The explanation given and the style adopted in treating the subject will go a long way to demystifying the concept of capital market activities in simple language to the ordinary reader. In other chapters of the book, he analyses the entire banking sector – focusing in particular on Capital, Asset Quality, Management, Earnings and Liquidity; and also delves into the synergies between Telcos, FinTechs and Banks, and how their close collaborations can cause a positive paradigm shift that is aimed at propelling a more digitalised economy.

The book is scheduled to be released on today Monday 19th June 2023. It is suitable for Finance and non-Finance people who want to broaden their scope of understanding for areas addressed in the book. The book will also be of interest to children over the age of 16 who want to build a career or are interested in banking, finance and FinTechs.

The book – under ISBN 978-9914-49-579-9 – is moderately priced to ensure that it is affordable for individuals who can buy copies and bless others with copies to benefit from the material; Carl’s desire is to have this book reach as many young people as possible, and become an everyday, simple to read and understand material for the desired target market. Dare to Dream will be in hardback, paperback and soft cover. Autographed copies can be obtained in Ghana at a cost of GH¢150 and KES3000 in Kenya. The book is also available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6YLYBG3. The amazon softcover is sold for US$9.99 while the paperback is priced at US$35. There is value for money with this book, as it captivates the interest of the lay reader. While the book is good material, the image quality should have been much sharper.
