Zenith Bank on Saturday, June 17, 2023 reinstituted the Zenith Health Walk as part of efforts to promote healthy living.
The walk was held under the theme ‘Everyone can bank with us’, and commenced at the bank’s head office on Independence Avenue in Accra. It brought together the board, management, staff, customers and friends of the bank, who walked for a little over two hours across some principal streets of Accra.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Zenith Bank Ghana, Henry Onwuzurigbo, delivering an address after the walk said the walk’s theme was to create awareness of the bank’s continuous commitment to ensuring its product and service offerings cater to the financial needs of diverse individuals and businesses. This, he said, is in line with the bank’s vision of being a reference point in the provision of prompt, flawless and innovative banking products and services in the Ghanaian banking industry.
The MD/CEO also highlighted the bank’s electronic channels that make banking more convenient for customers.
The route for the walk included Zenith Heights – Ridge Roundabout, Osu Cemetery-Ebenezer Church, Osu Shell, ShopRite, Danquah Circle, Fire Service Headquarters through Police Headquarters to Ako Adjei Interchange and back to Zenith Heights.
Mr. Onwuzurigbo, while urging the bank’s staff and customers to place a premium on their health, also indicated that he looks forward to making the walk a regular routine.
Mr. Onwuzurigbo added that the bank is also committed to enhancing its digital platform to enable customers have smooth, safe and easy banking transactions.
Some staff and customers who showed commitment to the walk were rewarded and commended for their efforts.
Some dignitaries who participated in the health walk included Freda Duplan, the bank’s Board Chair, and Directors of the bank Dr. Juliette Tuakli and Kwasi Boatin.
The Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB), John Awuah – who was also in attendance, commended the bank for organising the health walk – emphasising the need for participants to cultivate the culture of regularly keeping fit.
