ASA Savings and Loans supports Islamic Basic School at Tarkwa

ASA Savings and Loans Limited (Tarkwa Branch) has presented a desktop computer and its accessories, plus 10 ceiling fans to Tarkwa Islamic Basic School at Tarkwa in the Western Region.

The items, valued at GHc6700, are to support ICT learning at the school and the ceiling fan is to help circulate air in the classrooms and offices.

At a brief presentation, the Area Manager of the company, Mr. Mohammed Nasimul Islam, explained that the presentation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities.

According to him, education is the backbone of the nation. “No nation can develop without education; it helps you to develop critical skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, logical thinking as well as helps an individual meet basic job qualification and makes you more likely to secure a better job,” he said.

He said it has always been the priority of the company to meet the needs of its stakeholders through CSR to foster developmental change and improve the living standards of the people. “We are very glad to support this school.”

Mr. Cephas Allotey, ASA Savings and Loans Ltd. Branch Manager at Tarkwa, said: “the donation is a very important part our CSR and we do this annually to help our local schools.

“We hope that helping the disadvantaged and caring for the educational needs will be the concern of all institutions and individuals,” he said.

He encouraged the students to study hard to become responsible citizens and advised management of the school to maintain the items.

Mr. Abudu Nassar, the Headmaster of Tarkwa Islamic Basic School, expressed appreciation to ASA Savings and Loans Ltd. on the behalf of the school management committee, parents, teachers and students for the provision of the items.

“The items will indeed enhance the teaching and learning of ICT for the teachers and students. May Allah reward you, bless you and expand your business,” he said.
