This was agreed at a meeting between the Takoradi branch of GSA and leadership of GUTA in the Western Region held on 16th May 2023 at the regional office of GUTA in Kwesimintim, Takoradi.

The meeting formed part of a stakeholder engagement held by the Authority’s Takoradi branch in the Western Region. The engagement’s objective was to discuss challenges faced by various shippers, with the aim of finding common solutions and promoting the interests of traders across the Western Region.

Addressing the meeting, Head of the Takoradi branch-Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Mrs. Agnes Asamoah Duku, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting traders in the region with relevant information on trade and transport logistics operations. She called on the Leadership of GUTA to take active part in sensitisation programmes and the quarterly shipper committee meetings organised by GSA in the region.

On his part, Chairman of GUTA in the Western Region, Mr. Paa Payne, expressed his gratitude to the GSA for engaging with GUTA in the region. He called on the Authority to continue its good work for the benefit of shippers in the region.

The engagement resulted in a firm commitment by GUTA to have representation of its various affiliates on the Western Regional Shipper Committee.

The branch gave some souvenirs and information materials (Shipping Review and Brochures) to GUTA for distribution to their members.
