Crystal Lake CEO wins Life Time Aquaculture Achiever Award

The Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Lake Fish Limited located at Dodi Asantekrom near Akosombo, Ms Patricia Safo has been presented with the Life Time Aquaculture Achiever Award 2023.

The Aquaculture Life Time Achiever Award was presented to her at Dinner and Awards Night organised by the Chamber of Aquaculture Ghana under the auspices of the Ministry and the Fisheries Commission which was on the theme “Fostering Stakeholder Collaboration for Sustainable Aquaculture Industry”.

Ms. Safo was among the eighteen finalists who were recognised by the Commission to be awarded and appreciated for the enormous contribution to the growth of that sector of Agriculture in Ghana.

Some of the award categories included Young Aquapreneur Award, Female Aquapreneur of the Year, Unsung Hero Award, Corporate Social Responsibility Award and Aquaculture Journalist Award. Others were Aquaculture Sustainability Award, Aquaculture Innovation Technology Award, Aquaculture Farm of the Year 2022 as well as the Aquaculture Life Time Achiever Award among others.

The primary objective of the award ceremony according to the Chairperson of the Chamber for Aquaculture Ghana, Dr. Ruby Asmah was to acknowledge and appreciate stakeholders that have survived the turbulence of the sector and industry players that have contributed to the recovery process.

About Patricia Safo

Ms Patricia Safo is the Managing Director of Crystal Lake Fish Limited. She is also Founding Partner of Blue Skies Products (UK) and Blue Skies Ghana Ltd in 1999, now a successful fruit processing company employing over 1000 staff. Ms Safo is  one of the pioneers of Aquaculture in Ghana. She established Crystal Lake Fish Ltd and has won on two occasions the National Best fingerlings award, and indirectly helped create over 100,000 employment opportunities within the newly emerging aquaculture sector.

She established the first equity microfinance equity fund domicile in Ghana. She worked very strategically with Bank of Ghana to modify the law, to enable foreign companies invest in rural banks and also facilitated the establishment of the SolarKiosk venture in Ghana and acted as the local partner and facilitator of the Coca Cola EKOCENTER initiative.  She is the author of a book titled  ‘ A Will To Impart’
