CONSHIP feeds 1,000 children in Accra

The Chief Executive Officer and staff of Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited (CONSHIP) fed over 1,000 homeless children in some parts of Accra as part of the just ended Easter festivities.

The gesture benefited the less fortunate at Okponglo traffic intersection at Legon, the traffic intersection at the frontage of Ghana Standards Authority, Main Airport and Opeibea traffic intersections on the Liberation Road and 37 area, Gold House (Kawukudi) traffic intersection through Nima junction, and continued on the Independence Avenue to the National Theatre and the TUC traffic intersections, and finally completed the distribution at the Kinbu Avenue near the Octagon building complex, Accra.

Commenting on the exercise, CONSHIP’s Chief Executive Officer, Macdonald Vasnani, said the project, dubbed “Giving back to the street, one meal at a time”, is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to commemorate this year’s Easter festivities.

He said a total of 1,000 street children and the homeless people were served with foods, water and drinks to ensure that they feel part of the festive season.

Mr. Vasnani said: “Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited considers it an honor to extend a helping hand to these less fortunate ones as part of our corporate social responsibility;  we provided them with hot meals and treated them to some music to put a smile on their faces during this festive season”.

The company, according to him, is also making efforts toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, goal 2 which seeks to end hunger – zero hunger.

He said the company will continue to embark on the feeding project every year to support the vulnerable in society.

A team of 16 staff, including the Human Resource Manager for the Tema branch, in the person of Abena Serwaa Korda and the General Manager for the Accra branch, Raymond Agyekum and others from the Accra and Tema branches of the company, supported the worthy cause.
