ASA Savings and Loans Limited has extended its annual health screening exercise for customers and residents at the Kwesimintsim Business Centre (BC), a suburb within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
The screening covered malaria, blood pressure and sugar level among others.
Mrs. Helena Gaisie, Head of the Medical Team for the screening, mentioned that the most occurring ailments were malaria and urinary tract infections.
On malaria, she advised those who tested positive to keep their environment clean at all times and sleep under Insecticide Treated Nets.
Also, she urged individuals diagnosed with urinary tract infection to drink enough fluids, exercise regularly, and avoid alcohol intake as well as spicy foods among others.
She encouraged all to visit the clinic when they are ill, so they can be treated early.
Emmanson Amaning, Manager of ASA Savings Loans Ltd., Kwesimintsim Business Centre, said the company is committed to ensuring that customers enjoy quality healthcare.
Also, he said, the screening is to help those who are not able to visit the hospital often to check on their health status. “This is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the people and customers in the areas that we serve.”
He mentioned that the company provides credit facilities for women who are into small and medium enterprises to expand their businesses.
“Healthy minds live in healthy bodies; therefore, we believe if our clients are healthy they can go about their daily work and be able to repay their loans on time for others to benefit,” he added.
