The Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference (GITFiC) has announced that its 7th edition will take place at the Royal Senchi Resort & Hotel in Akosombo from May 26th – 28th, 2023.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Driving African Economic Integration through Business Tourism,” which aims to promote African economic integration through business and tourism.

According to Mr. Selasi Koffi Ackom, the CEO of GITFiC, the conference aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities facing the African economy and to develop strategies for promoting economic integration on the continent.

The conference will cover three key topics: “Promoting Regional Integration through Business Tourism,” “Harnessing Technology for African Economic Growth,” and “Facilitating Intra-African Trade through a Single Currency.” The topics were chosen based on extensive research on the challenges and opportunities facing the African economy.

One of the key highlights of the conference will be the Senchi Declaration on Africa’s Single Currency in support of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area. The declaration aims to facilitate the adoption of a single currency on the continent, which is seen as a critical step towards promoting intra-African trade and economic integration.

The conference will also provide an opportunity for delegates to engage in business tourism activities. This will be the first time that the conference will take the shape of business tourism, and the organizers hope that this will provide an opportunity for delegates to relax and engage with each other in a more informal setting.

H.E Albert M. Muchanga, the AU Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, Industry, Mining and Tourism, is expected to lead a delegation from the African Union and all economic blocs to deliver a keynote address at the conference. Other panel dignitaries expected to attend include the Governor of the Central Bank of Central Africa, the Governor of the Central Bank of West Africa, and the Director-General of the West African Monetary Institutes.

The conference is expected to attract delegates from across the world, and interested parties can register to participate by visiting the conference’s registration portal at https://gitfic.com/register-now/. The portal will be open to the global public from March 8th, 2023, and will close on March 30th, 2023, at noon GMT.

Media accreditation for the conference will be open on scheduled dates on GITFiC’s various social media handles from Monday, April 3rd, 2023, and will close on Monday, April 17th, 2023, at noon GMT.

The 7th Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference promises to be an important forum for stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the African economy and to develop strategies for promoting economic integration on the continent.
