Academic City University College, Ghana’s premium STEAM and Entrepreneurial tertiary institution, has announced the appointment of Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi as Associate Dean of Business Administration and Communication Arts, and Dr. Abena Engmann as Dean of Students and Community Affairs.
Prof. Antwi has vast expertise in the education industry, with a concentration on college administration, lecturing, research, leadership and management consulting, and state board testing administration. He worked at Wisconsin Technical College System as Director of Organisational Leadership Programme. Professor Antwi was an Assistant Professor of Leadership and Management at Viterbo University in La Crosse-Wisconsin, USA, prior to joining Academic City.
He has worked at Pearson Education Inc., Valeo Climate Control, Daymar Colleges Group and Northern Kentucky University throughout his career. In addition to hosting a radio morning show, he served as a consultant for the German Technical Cooperation in Ghana.
Prof. Antwi stated: “I feel extremely privileged to assume this position at a time when global higher education is undergoing rapid transformation. I am confident that Academic City is on the right track by addressing these changes in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner to prepare students for seamless integration into the workforce of the future”.
Dr. Antwi has a Ph.D. in Business Organisational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion-Indiana, USA, and an M.S. in Business Organisational Leadership from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati-Ohio, USA.
Dr. Abena Engmann, the newly-appointed Dean of Students and Community Affairs, will be responsible for creating programmes designed to foster students’ personal growth and development.
Dr. Engmann worked in the banking industry for 15 years, where she held several managerial positions. She also worked in the Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) at the University of Ghana as a Research Development Officer.
Prior to joining Academic City University, she was Manager of the Ashesi Entrepreneurship Center. She is a facilitator at Design Thinking Ghana Hub and also a Research Fellow at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.
She is a Chartered Banker (Ghana) and Chartered Marketer (UK), and has a Doctorate in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. Dr. Engmann is a member of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance, Ghana Chapter.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) from the University of Ghana and a Master of Business Administration in International Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. She also holds an MIT Management Executive Education Certificate in Design Thinking.
