First Sky Group marks 20th anniversary with Thanksgiving

The First Sky Group has held its 20th anniversary celebration in Accra, expressing gratitude to God for his kind deeds to the company.

The Founder and Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutorste, in his remarks thanked God for His continuous guidance over the years and also expressed appreciation to government and the entire citizenry for diverse supports within the 20 years.

The anniversary was on the theme ‘The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad, Psalm 126:3’, and was to show gratitude to God for His protection over the years, according to the Chairman.

Mr. Kutortse said 20 years ago, when the life of First Sky began, the vision was to create job opportunity, create wealth to support God’s kingdom, bring relief to humanity, the poor and needy, and promote well­being of the company’s staff.

He announced that three patients will undergo kidney transplants in Ghana before the end of April this year, with full sponsorship from the First Sky Group.

“I am also happy to announce that a joint working committee from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and First Sky has been formed, and it is our hope that by end of this year the Kidney Transplant Centre will be fully operational to cater for patients – not only in Ghana but the entire West Africa,” he said

Mr. Kutortse said, so far, GH¢26million has been spent on free dialysis for more than 300 patients over the years at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

He assured of the ongoing church project in the country, stating that 71 churches have been completed in Ghana and adding that three more have been earmarked to be built in the Ashanti, Volta and Northern Regions this year.

President Akufo-Addo – in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwesi Amoako Atta – said private sector entities such as the First Sky Group are contributing to the country’s economic development.

The president assured that his government is keen on creating a sustainable and enabling environment for private sector actors to thrive.

“The desire to build a strong and healthy economy that will stand the global economic and social pressures of our time remains my fixed resolution: to create a very good and sustainable enabling environment for private sector actors such as First Sky Group, whose contributions undoubtedly result in the economic development of our country,” he said.
