Head of Adausena Health Centre, Joshua Tietaah, has revealed that the facility is now set to go digital after a team from Consolidated Shipping Agencies Ltd. (Conship) donated laptops and medical items to management.

The items include 2 laptops and ward screens, 3 delivery beds and hospital beds, 4 baby cots, 20 packs of A4 sheets, 48 paper clips, five staplers and 20 boxes of staple pins, 150 packets of both blue and red pens, a coloured printer, a table-top fridge and an infant incubator. The rest include big towel tissues, toilet rolls, gallons of hand sanitiser, and multi-purpose detergents.

Presenting the items to the management of the centre, traditional rulers and the District Health Director of the North Akyem District in the Eastern Region, Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Conship, Linda Vasnani, said the presentation is part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) to improving healthcare delivery.

She said over the years, Conship has been active in many corporate social responsibility initiatives which cover sectors such as education, health, sports and other government organisations.

Mrs. Vasnani noted Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited, since broadening its operations in the Akyem area, has deemed it necessary to give back to the people in the community. She, therefore, urged beneficiaries to put the equipment to good use and employ a robust maintenance culture to enhance its life span.

Receiving the items with excitement, Dr. Tietaah indicated that the donation is timely because it came at a period that the facility is in dire need of meeting their quest of digitising its services. “We want to go folder-less but we lack computers. Now that Conship has stepped in with additional laptops, our desire to going paperless will come to pass. The folder room is currently chocked. Now that we have enough computers, we can pay for the software gradually and soon, the manual services will be a thing of the past,” Dr. Tietaah said.
