The Queen Mother of Lashibi Traditional Area, Naa Aforkor Ojeagbo II, has treated the children of the Nungua Traditional Area township and the Nungua-Addogonno branch of Maranatha Power Ministries to a Special Thanksgiving Service to God Almighty and the ancestors of the land.

The kids, numbering about 150, were feted with sumptuous meals, drinks, candies, biscuits, toys, among others.

Manye Ojeagbo II, who is a Divisional Queen Mother of Nungua Traditional Council, was delighted to celebrate with the kids as she marked her birthday on December 14, and crowned it all in thanksgiving to God on December 26, 2022.

The queen mother encouraged the children to prioritise their education and avoid negative social behaviours. She also urged parents to support their children’s education, particularly in light of the government’s free basic education policy.

“Kids are the heartbeat of my life and education is very necessary for them to live on this earth. So, I urge all parents to fasten their seatbelts to see that their kids attain the best of education, especially with the free basic education government has implemented.”

Speaking to the B&FT, Manye Ojeagbo II emphasised the importance of respecting and obeying one’s parents, citing Ephesians chapter 6 and the commandment to “honour your father and mother”.

“In Ephesians chapter 6, the good book of our Lord admonishes children to obey their parents in the Lord, for this is right and also honour their father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise) that it may be well with them, and that they may live long on the earth. Thus, honouring our parents is a command given to us that we must respect and act accordingly. Your relationship with your children is the basis for their other relationships in life. Children, obeying your parents is not a suggestion but a requisite demand.”

She thanked those who supported her and the parents of the children for allowing them to participate in the celebration.
