The Mercy Gambo-Chigbu Memorial Foundation, a charity organisation owned by the wife of the Cassona Global Imaging, Chief Executive Office (CEO), has donated some items to flood victims of the recent Weija dam spillage.
Items donated incudes 360 pieces of sanitary pads, 600 pieces of cooking oil, and 500 bags of 5kg rice.
Leni Chigbu-CEO of Mercy Gambo-Chigbu Memorial Foundation, in her remarks said: “After reading about the Weija Dam Spillage on the internet, My husband, John Chigbu (CEO of Cassona Global Imaging) and I decided to support those affected by the flood incident.
This project is actually our second initiative. The first one is to donate US$10,000 need-based scholarship for two Ghanaian Medical students,” she said.
She added that the goal of Cassona is to donate seven percent of the company’s gross revenue to the society through supporting of women’s health issues, supporting of early childhood development issues, and also youth education.
“I see these as the most pressing needs. If women, mothers, young children and student are taken care of, then we can move on to other things,” she added.
The Foundation believes that these three issues are always the most important issues whether it is in Ghana, the United States or other countries. Therefore, the donation is a beginning, as they discover other challenging issues in which they can help the Ghanaian society.
The Member of Parliament (MP), Weija Gbawe, Tina Naa Ayele and Patrick Kumor Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Weija Gbawe, were present during the donation and thanked the Foundation for their Support.
