First Atlantic Bank consistent with CSR mandate

First Atlantic Bank is a full-scale commercial bank with over 25 years’ experience and 35 branches located across Ghana.

First Atlantic Bank has inaugurated and handed over classroom blocks to the Abua D/A Primary School located in the Pru West district, Bono East Region.

The project, which lasted for two months, in record time entailed the renovation of an existing 6-unit classroom block, washrooms  and the provision of furniture etc.; and also had an additional six-unit classroom block newly-built to address infrastructure needs of the over-500 pupils and the school at large.

Mr. Amarquaye Amar, Board Chairman of First Atlantic Bank, in his keynote address before handing over the classrooms said: “Our primary objective is to help the Pru West district of the Bono East Region create more conducive teaching and learning environment for education at the primary school level.  First Atlantic Bank is proud to have been able to put in place a key building block toward accomplishing this objective – the renovation, modernisation and Expansion of facilities at the Abua D/A Primary School involving:

  1. Renovation of the existing  six-unit classroom block and its toilet and urinal facilities
  2. Construction of a new six-unit Classroom block including an ICT lab and teachers’ common-room
  3. Provision of 60 dual-desk, tables and chairs for all the classrooms.
  4. Tables and Chairs for the ICT lab and Staff common-rooms.

This is the fourth major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project coming after the Atlantic Lounge – a modern and comfortable waiting area established for family and friends of patients on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, in 2021.

In 2019, the bank built and handed over a fully-furnished classroom unit for the Cape Coast School for the Blind and Deaf. Similarly, in 2018 the bank built and handed over a fully-equipped Mother and Baby Care Unit to the people of Talensi in the Upper East Region.

A message from the Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison – which was read on his behalf by Mr. Nurudeen Yussif Musah, Deputy Regional Manager-Bank of Ghana, Sunyani –   highly commended the joint effort and commitment of the community leadership together with the staunch support of First Atlantic Bank toward improving the lives of youths through the provision of good infrastructure and facilities in the Abua Community.
