Serene Insurance, a member of the First Sky Group, has been adjudged the ‘Fastest Growing Insurance Company’ at the 5th Ghana Insurance Awards (GIA) held on Friday, August 26, 2022 in Accra.

The ceremony saw the largest gathering of insurance industry players at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, to honour and reward the achievements and leadership in the insurance sector.

The award categories span life and non-life companies, re-insurers, brokerage firms and other intermediaries, health insurers, actuarial firms and insurance service providers.

Over 30 honours comprising hall of fame awards were presented at the ceremony.

The awarding board of GIA noted that the honours are in line with the vision of rewarding excellence and creating space to foster good corporate governance, as well as to stimulate innovations in the sector.

Speaking after being declared ‘Fastest Growing Insurance Company of the Year’, Head of Marketing-Serene Insurance, Eugenia Agyire-Tettey (Mrs.), said the award will motivate the company to further prioritise and meet the needs of customers.

“After just four years in the market, this award shows that we’re doing things right and are on the right path. Our focus is not to only grow as a company but also grow with our existing and prospective customers as the best insurance brand on the market,” Mrs. Agyire-Tettey noted.

According to her, the core business of Serene Insurance is the prompt provision of claims -which has become the company’s hallmark.

“Serene’s claim processes are smooth and customers are always happy with us. It is the reason why we have made massive inroads in just four years. We are excited by the award recognition, but that also means we have to work more to sustain the growth and offer customers the Serene feeling,” she said.

Speaking on growth prospects, Mrs. Agyire-Tettey explained that Serene Insurance envisages being among the best 10 insurance companies over the next five years within the current 28 insurers nationwide.

She said the company as part of its short-term strategy seeks to build on its current customer base of 40,000 clients to 100,000 customers.

“With increases in our numbers, we are poised to place the customer at the heart of everything we do; thereby giving true meaning to our tagline ‘the New Face of Insurance’,” Mrs. Agyire-Tettey added.

With its first operational branch in Lapaz at the company’s commencement, Serene Insurance currently has nine branches nationwide within just four years.

Serene has plans to acquire a significantly sizeable market share in Ghana and enter the sub-region in the near-future.
