The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Ghana Communication Technology University Professor Robert E. Hinson is the Guest Speaker at the launch of the brand-new Durban University of Technology Business School.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Ghana Communication Technology University Professor Robert E. Hinson is the Guest Speaker at the launch of the brand-new Durban University of Technology Business School. Professor Hinson, who is also an Honorary Professor at the Durban University of Technology will be delivering at address on the theme “What Should A Battle- Ready Dut Business School Look Like?”

With a mission to leverage an applied business curriculum, which will enable leaders to solve real life problems which contribute to socio-economic transformation, the DUT Business School is positioned to advance contemporary leadership in Southern Africa and beyond.

The DUT Business School offers a flagship Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, and a variety of Executive Education courses.  The DUT Business School also designs tailor-made, in-house programmes and collaborates with corporate, public, and non-profit organisations to develop and train working professionals in Africa in various areas.

The DUT Business School’s academic programmes are accredited by the Council for Higher Education (CHE), registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the DUT Business School is a member of the South African Business School Association (SABSA).

The launch event will hold at the Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel from 17:30 on Wednesday, 24 August 2022 and will be opened by the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor Fulufhelo Godfrey Netswera. The Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University, Professor Thandwa Zizwe Mthembu will then give an address to the gathering. This will be followed by a congratulatory message by the Chair of the Business School Advisory Board, Professor Himanshu Rai, Director: Indian Institute of Management – Indore, India.

Professor Hinson will deliver his guest speaker address after Professor Himanshu Rai’s congratulatory message and will use his speech to offer some ideas on how the DUT Business School should properly position itself in an increasingly cluttered African Business School space. He will offer ideas on institutional traits that will propel the new Business School to success, as well an individual trails for the new Business School’s faculty that will enable them to hone their skills and competencies into strong personal brands.

The launch will have about a hundred business executives in-person and will have a virtual audience.
