Godwin Dogbey, a radio producer for the award-winning drive-time show (Ekwanso DwooDwoo) on popular Accra-based radio station, Okay FM, has been awarded the ‘Best TV/Radio Producer of The Year’ at the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA ’22.
Having served diligently as a radio producer for several years, Godwin Dogbey beat competition from five others including Mr. Haglah, Mercy Bee, Ella Okuwendia, Philip Nai and Sandra Akakpo.
Despite receiving several nominations for various awards over the years, an elated Godwin expressed his gratitude to God and all who have supported his journey thus far for winning such a beautiful award. “I’ve always been the go-to guy in the back who pulls the strings to get things done so it’s really humbling to be celebrated. Again, this is an exciting moment for me as this is my first ever award in the industry,” he said.
Mr. Dogbey is a professional at what he does; aside from radio production he works as a public relations expert. He has, over the years, worked with Ghanaian and international superstars including Davido, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Shatta Wale, Trigmatic, Keche, Stonebwoy, Asem, Gemini, Joey B, and many others.
He is also into events production, and has been the brain behind the success of many events in the country including TINA Festival – Kente Party, Okay FM Carnival, Dope Concert, Koforidua Technical University SRC Awards, among many others.
He currently serves as the Public Relations, Events and Promotions Manager for Kaya Tours Ghana Ltd. & Kaya Management Services. His expertise ranges in marketing communications, media relations, team work, tourism destination management, and digital and social media marketing.
The 4th edition and this year’s Ghana Entertainment Awards USA (GEA-USA) was held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Centre in New York. Ghana Entertainment Awards USA is aimed at promoting and celebrating the achievements of Ghanaian creatives and entertainers excelling in various abilities in and outside Ghana.
