Zeepay launches first Koforidua outlet

Zeepay has opened a new branch in Koforidua to bring its services closer to its growing clients in the region, a known remittance hub for its key partners. The opening of the brand-new Koforidua branch increases the number of offices operated by the fastest growing remittance to mobile money wallet provider to seven.

Zeepay was issued the first Electronic Money Issuer License (Mobile Money) by the Bank of Ghana to operate the full bouquet of Mobile Money Services, such as Cash in, Cash Out, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Transfers, Payments and Digital Termination of Remittances (DTR), and has since not looked back in offering freedom to its clients.

Since then, Zeepay has opened several outlets to bring its services closer to the people in communities that are saturated with remittance receivers. With offices in Haatso, Kasoa and Burma Camp, Zeepay is expanding its reach beyond the capital city of Ghana to include the areas that are less accessible.

Dede Quarshie, Chief Commercial Officer at Zeepay, speaking at a short ceremony to open the new branch said: “Koforidua has always been a cornerstone for the development of the nation when it comes to the economic impact of in-bound remittances into the zone. This year, we have made it our mandate to support this pillar of economic growth starting with the new outlet for our receivers in the region”.

Much like Zeepay’s other branches, this new outlet in Koforidua will be open 12 hours a day so remittance receivers and mobile money customers have the convenience of visiting anytime for any of the services provided by Zeepay including cash in and cash out.

The strategy for Zeepay’s physical outlets is always in line with the overarching strategy of the business, and that is to help reduce the cost of remittances on the send-side and receive-side. “We have successfully done this by creating a wholly Ghanaian owned mobile money wallet for remittance receivers that enable them to perform transactions for everyday needs such as ECG bill pay, Ghana water bill pay, Zoomlion bill pay, giftcard tokens for PlayStation and Amazon, among many others,” she said.

This new branch will serve as an additional centre for remittance receivers of all our other partner MTO’s such as MoneyGram, Ria, SmallWorld, TaptapSend, among many others.
