Top Fashion Designers Take Over Achimota Mall Tomorrow

Everything chic, stylish and trendy in the Ghanaian world of fashion will be paraded in Accra on the evening of Saturday, June 18, when models take to the runway at the Achimota Retail Centre to showcase a wide variety of collections from some of the country’s most accomplished fashion designers.

The 2022 ARC Fashion Show is a collaboration between Achimota mall, the trendiest shopping destination in the Ga East Municipality and adjoining communities, and the Accra-based Rioh’s Fashion School, and will feature collections from an exciting line-up of seasoned, as well as new and emerging designers in Ghana.

Twelve well-groomed models will do the catwalk on a busy runway located at the convivial ARC food court to showcase a wide range of limited edition designs, as well as off-the-rack clothing coming from the different fashion houses.

“ARC is committed to ensuring a dynamic experience for our many fashion-loving patrons, shoppers and tenants. Bringing together fashion designers, accessory manufacturers, fashion retailers, the critics and most importantly, the ultimate consumers of fashion, under one roof as we will have tomorrow is highly commendable,” Marketing Manager Kobina Ampong told reporters this morning.

“This year’s fashion show brings to our patrons and fashion-lovers some of the finest collections in contemporary and up-coming designer clothing and should appeal greatly to aficionados with the urge for designs which tap deep into the traditional subculture, vintage and limited edition fashion and throwback fashion,” Ampong disclosed, adding that as many as 20 designers are billed to showcase their works.

Listed among the 20 participating fashion houses are some highly celebrated designers like Hagar Creations, Fordel Klodenz, Easy Prime and MV Accessories, the last two of which retail their collections at the Achimota Mall.

Achimota Retail Centre is located at Dome, near the St John’s Grammar School on the Accra-Nsawam Highway. Easily the most popular open mall in Accra, ARC houses a wide range of Ghanaian and international brands with offerings in different retail categories including, fashion and clothing, electronics, grocery and a range of alluring delicatessen and eateries.

Over the past six years, the Centre, also known by customers as Achimota Mall, has brought modern, convenient, one-stop-shopping to the underserviced south-eastern sector of Accra, including communities like Dome, Tantra Hill, Ofankor, Ashongman Estates, Kwabenya, West Legon and the Achimota township.
