Managing Director of Imperial General Assurance, Robert Wugah, has been inducted into the membership of the West African Nobles Forum at the 34th Annual Congress of the forum held at Accra.

Mr. Wugah received the award for upholding the virtues of integrity, honesty and accountability – which have impacted positively on his team, as a Managing Director.

The Governing Council of the West Africa Nobles Forum is a group of eminent West Africans, who identify deserving business leaders in the sub-region each year and present them with awards.

The Governing Council nominations are guided by the criteria of corporate governance, integrity and exemplary leadership qualities displayed by these business leaders.

Mr. Robert Wugah is noted for his strategic and human centred leadership abilities that promote team work and commitment to set targets.

Reading the citation to confer the award, the forum noted that Mr. Wugah has over twenty years’ hands-on experience in Strategy, General Management, Insurance Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims. He is known for his openness of thought, integrity and demand for accountability, with high appetite for corporate governance adherence. As a demonstration of his leadership qualities, his working colleagues – both past and present – see him as a friendly but firm individual at all times.

As Managing Director, Mr. Wugah has led the team at Imperial on their rise in the insurance industry over the last two years. Key milestones under his leadership include a turnaround in growth, and the profitability of the company with a subsequent increase in the market share of the company. He has also led the critical restructuring of the company which has injected fresh energy into the activities of the company.

Robert is very much enthusiastic about community development, and is involved in various community development projects in his area of origin. He has led various development initiatives in his local community. As a member of the Akorligah Wugah Royal House of Mafi Traditional Area, in the Central Tongu District, Robert has served as the Secretary to the Royal House with significant impacts.
