Indigenes of Koforidua and its environs are warming up to a groundbreaking gospel concert at the Jubilee Park this weekend, dubbed ‘Eastern Praise’.  The event is being headlined by one of Ghana’s celebrated worship leaders with several awards to her name, Ohemaa Mercy.

Slated for 3pm on the February 27, the hybrid event is expected to beam live across various social media platforms as well as some local TV stations.

The ‘He Lives In Me’ hitmaker is promising a showdown on Sunday for many reasons. Principally, she sees this opportunity as a unique one to give back her best to Koforidua, a place she grew up. The multiple award winner who is also known for her spirited ministrations is assuring attendees of a heavenly down pour.

Other artistes performing on the day are the timeless Daughters of Glorious Jesus, S.K. Frimpong, Odehyieba Priscilla and five mass choirs drawn from churches in the Koforidua township.

The free concert which is being put together by the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, has received massive commendation from churches in the area as well as opinion leaders in the locality.

“As a people, we should not only depend on our leaders, we need to support them with prayer and ask God to heal our land,” the minister retorted. According to him, Eastern Praise is an initiative which will be replicated in other areas in the Eastern region.
