Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson appointed to chair Eleven Member advisory board of the chamber for tourism industry ghana

The Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana Advisory Board inaugurated Friday 14th January 2022 and chaired by Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson would among other things serve as a backbone to the decision making that would manage the Chambers operations in the promotion and development of tourism businesses.

Dr. Kludjeson in his inaugural speech iterated how significant and critical the sector is to the economy as it contributed positively to the trade balance through public and private sector initiatives such as Year of Return, Volta Fair etc. He said the transformation of major countries came through tourism and it’s time for all to prioritize and show commitment to tourism development in Ghana to create long term sustainable economy and transformation by initiating smart tourism projects contributing to the growth of tourism businesses and job creation.

He assured that as the leader of the Board, they would work with all strategic partners to give confidence to the sector and market Ghana as the must visit destination with a new tourism approach.

‘I look forward to working with the Board members whose backgrounds and impressive expertise will inform our work as well as develop and implement a strategy that will bring to place the Chamber as a leader of tourism business conduit in Ghana.

The Board is made up of Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson- Celltel Networks, Mr. Yaw Anim Barnafo -CAL Bank Ghana, Lawyer Charles Juanah- Chairman-San Law Firm, and Mrs. Odelia Ntiamoah-Head of Joy Business, Dr. Kwaku Aninkora- CEO Makeown Hotels, Mercy Akaliga Wema-CEO Travel Planners, Ms Judith Biel – MD, JB-Hospitality Consultant Group, Mr. Fergus Maclaren- Chair, Heritage and Cultural Society for Africa

The others are Mr. Josphus J.P.A. Van Den Berg – CEO, Red Mango Hotel, Mr. Prince Ntiamoah-President, CTI Ghana, Mr. Prasanth Kumar- Commercial Partnerships Director, Founders Factory Africa and Mr. Emmanuel Treku-CEO, Chamber for Tourism Industry Ghana.

The Advisory Board was sworn into office by Mr. Benjamin Anane – Nsiah, Director at the Ghana Tourism Authority. In his solidarity remarks he expressed confidence in quality of brains on the board. Furtherance to admitting the numerous challenges in the tourism sector, he admonished the board to take a systematic and pragmatic approach on focused tourism solutions than a holistic practice leading to non-accomplishment in the set task to be performed.

In attendance was a cross section captains of tourism industry and corporate Ghana.
