Budget 2022: Planned domestic borrowing will starve local businesses of credit – PwC warns

Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has said Ghana’s economic recovery must translate into decent jobs, higher incomes and increased production.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced a €323 million financing package for the Northern Ghana Water and Sanitation Project, which aims to address persistent water shortages in Tamale, Yendi and Damongo.

Government expects the  economy to outperform the International Monetary Fund’s revised growth forecast of 5.7 percent for 2026, with Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson attributing the improved outlook to fiscal discipline and reforms aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability.

Economic activity expanded by 7.4 percent year-on-year in July 2026, driven by strong growth in services and a rebound in industry, providing further evidence of improving domestic conditions.
