First Sky Group supports 5th Volta Fair with GH¢100,000

The First Sky Group has presented a cheque for GH¢100,000 and an insurance cover for all prospective participants in support of the 5th Volta Trade and Investment Fair to begin from November 15-28, 2021.

The two-week event, under the theme ‘Promoting Sustainable Trade and Investment in the Volta Region’, will gather visitors and patrons from the fields of business, politics and entertainment, and from the diaspora.

This year, the event will emphasise tourism, agribusiness and investment potentials in the ICT sector of the region. Notable activities for the Fair include forums, business seminars and tourism trips to several attractions across the region.

Addressing the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, officials of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council and some members of the Fair’s organising committee at a brief ceremony to present the cheque, Founder and Chairman of the First Sky Group of Companies Eric Seddy Kutortse commended the minister, the VRCC and all organisers for putting the spotlight on progress of the Volta Region.

Mr. Kutortse said the First Sky Group has decided to come on board to support the initiative because of the Fair’s potential to open-up the Volta Region to development and attract investment to key sectors.

“Not only am I an indigene of the Volta Region, but more importantly the First Sky Group runs most of its businesses from the region; and as such, we deem it fit and proper to support this laudable programme,” he said.

Serene Insurance, a subsidiary of the Group, according to Mr. Kutortse will also provide an insurance cover to the tune of GH¢20million for all participants of the Fair. He asked organisers of the upcoming event to sell the region’s investment potentials in order to create more employment for young people.

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa expressed gratitude for the support, and called on other businesses and corporate entities to support the Fair.

“We are appealing to businesses, particularly those operating in the region, to kindly support this laudable initiative; particularly Voltarian businessmen. We want to open up the region for more investment, and we can only do this in partnership with corporate Ghana and the private sector,” he said.

Though the Fair’s 4th edition was held last year, it made little impact due to effects of the pandemic. This year, the 5th edition has been taken a level higher with key partners in the private sector and key brand ambassadors from the media.
