ASACI unveils reforms

The Association of Insurance Companies of Cote d’Ivoire has drawn up a roadmap for the development of insurance industries under its new chairman, Mr. Mamadou Kone.

Kone became chairman on April 29, 2021 and will serve for a term of three years. He is also the Managing Director of Allianz CI Assurance Vie and Allianz CI Assurances TIARD.

Speaking to this paper, he said the roadmap aims to accelerate the rate of claims settlement and improve the quality of service, Search for new sources of growth to breathe new life into the insurance sector, promote digital transformation of insurance processes to achieve operational excellence and therefore better serve customers.

Finally, to revitalise relations with the insurance regulator while strengthening the place for self-regulation in the industry – and to reform ASACI to make it an essential interlocutor for Cote d’Ivoire, the regulatory authorities, the task authorities and all other stakeholders. As part of the roadmap, there is an action plan to develop the insurance sector in Cote d’Ivoire.

This will be based on the 2021-2022 operational plan comprising 65 actions distributed through work teams comprising members of ASACI’s Executive Board.

Kone said that this work teams should only rely on ASACI’s technical commissions and the General Secretariate. “This will require a reform of the operational structures of our umbrella to make it a more productive.

“Furthermore, we must first quickly inform our information system and our organisational model to adapt them to the digital world. Our information system and organisational structures are indeed heavy, old and even unsuited to the agility required in the new customer relationship.

“In this new approach, the key to a successful customer experience is based on a series of actions; including that of making claims management an excellent lever for building customers,” Kone indicated.
