ASA Savings and Loans gives to Dormaa ‘special children’

ASA Savings and Loans has offered a helping hand to Cosmos Centre-a specialised children’s home at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.

The company donated assorted items to the 19 autism children at the centre. The items estimated at GH¢7,458 were made up of five bags of rice, three 25-litre gallons of cooking oil, five cartons of milk,  boxes of tomato paste and soft drinks. The rest were different toiletries, packs of sachet water, hand sanitizers and nose masks among others.

This is the second time ASA Savings and Loans has supported the specialised children’s home in recent times. In July 2019, the financial institution presented similar items, valued at GH¢5,500 to the centre.

The Sunyani Area Manager, ASA Savings and Loans, Seth Morgan Arhin, who presented the items to Cosmos Centre said the gesture is in accordance with the corporate social responsibility of the company which is particularly aimed at giving back to society, especially to those in the less-privileged bracket.

He said the gesture will not be the last in the 2021 calendar year, indicating that many of such will be replicated across its operational area till the year comes to a close.

The Manager of Cosmos Centre, Owusu Sekyere, who received the items on behalf of the children expressed gratitude to ASA Savings and Loans for its benevolence, saying the “the donation will boost the morale of the children as well as the caretakers.”

He appealed to corporate Ghana and benevolent individuals to emulate the kind example of ASA Savings and Loans to help give the autism children a befitting care. He said 30 children are on the waiting list for admission but limited resources has managers of the facility to suspend any further admission, hence the appeal.
