Enterprise Village in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab will be organizing a stakeholder meeting to find challenges and recommendations on the role of mobile application in economic development.
The event, which is slated for September 24, will be held at the Enterprise Village, Dzorwulu with sponsorship from the Mastercard Foundation under the Young Africa Works Program, through the World Bank and implemented under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization Ghana.
The engagement with stakeholders is themed “The role of Mobile Application in Transforming the Local Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development”.
The focus of this meeting is to bring key stakeholders together to outline the skills gap, challenges, opportunities, strategies, and collective policies for transforming the local economy to achieve sustainable development through digitals skills and entrepreneurship.
In an a statement, Enterprise Village noted that “This engagement is pivotal to delivering a policy document that would feed into the development of a well structured and informed curriculum and ultimately, a roadmap for achieving a sustainable local digital economy through mobile application transformation in Ghana.”
The consultative meeting will categorize stakeholders into six pillars of human capital, education and training, support infrastructure and hubs (entrepreneurial support organizations), accessible market, media and culture, access to finance and policy; government and regulatory bodies
The meeting will also be held to create a collaborative and consultative platform for stakeholders to drive the digital transformation of the local economy to achieve sustainable development through digital skills and entrepreneurship.
It is also aimed at informing and identifying current market needs of industries/companies/job market and skills gap. This, according to the statement, will help single out the needed intervention to help bridge/eliminate the gap.
The statement also noted that the engagement with the stakeholders will facilitate and deepen relationships and collaboration among local players, to forge a focused agenda in the area of job creation for the youth and foster eco-system synergy.
At the end of discussions, stakeholders will be encouraged to make a commitment to collaborate with the community hub to make a lasting impact.
