The nation’s biggest business newspaper, the Business & Financial Times (B&FT) has been adjudged the Outstanding Newspaper of the Decade at the 2021 Made In Ghana Awards (MIGA).
According to the organizers of the awards, Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana, the B&FT has and continue to play an important role in the dissemination of information that influences decision making of organizations both local and international.
“For the past decade and beyond, many businesses have not only relied on the paper to plan their operations but also to project their images and advertises their products and services,” a statement from the organisers said.
Chief Executive Officer of the B&FT, Dr. Godwin Acquaye, who led a team to pick the award, said the company feels very honored and would strive to do even more for the business community.
“Over three decades, the paper has kept to its main focus; feeding the business community with relevant and timely information. We have done this no matter the economic cycle the nation has witnessed. This MIGA award will surely motivate us to promote businesses and enhance their images because we survive and die with them,” Dr. Acquaye said.

The Made in Ghana Awards 2021 recognises the tireless journey, hard work, outstanding achievements and vision of Ghanaian manufacturing industry, business and entrepreneurial success. It is a celebration of the most outstanding indigenous businesses, tourism, arts and culture, and the exceptional manufacturing industries behind these successful and growing industries. It is the springboard to enhanced business and manufacturing success.
The Pride of Ghana Award category of Made in Ghana Awards 2021 is a tribute to honour and recognize the contributions made and excellence achieved in manufacturing and service industries registered in Ghana which has played important role in supporting the economy of Ghana over the past decades.
The key objective of the award is a campaign to seek the pride of indigenous most celebrated premium quality and competitive products and service industries to create awareness and also to promote, advertise and market quality manufactured products and industries which have exhibited excellence in manufacturing practices and standards, industry personalities in Ghana, in an effort to reduce the Cedi depreciation, provide the platform for consumers to patronize made-in-Ghana products and service organizations.
The 8th edition of the MIGA award took place at the Movenpic Ambassador Hotel.
