InvestCorp partners South Tongu District Assembly to offer financial planning training

InvestCorp Asset Management Limited (InvestCorp) – one of the leading investment banks, in partnership with the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu, Kobena Woyome, and in collaboration with the Sogakope District Assembly has organised a one-day intensive education and capacity building program dubbed ‘Toward financial independence and retirement planning’ for members of the community.

The programme was specially designed to educate, sensitise and expose participants to current developments in the financial services industry, with specific emphasis on investment and retirement planning. Participants were from varied backgrounds ranging from entrepreneurs, traders, students, government workers, as well as opinion and traditional leaders.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kobena Woyome expressed appreciation to InvestCorp for its timely organisation of the programme. He further underscored the urgent need for every income-earning constituent to consciously consider setting aside funds as an investment toward a financially stable future.

In his remarks, the District Coordinating Director of the South Tongu District Assembly, David Avemegah, shared his story on how he was advised to invest even as a young person and the benefits thereof.

The Vice President, Sales and Distribution of InvestCorp, Harrison Ahorgba, educated participants in various aspects of financial planning, investment and retirement planning.

Some of the topics discussed included creating, maintaining and sustaining wealth; developing a positive attitude toward investment; Key factors to consider when making an investment decision; alignment of investment product to financial objectives; investment projections and how to meet your financial goals/targets; the regulatory environment; collective Investment Schemes; investment opportunities and products available from InvestCorp.

The team from InvestCorp used the opportunity to educate members of the community on a local FM station in Sogakope to help them appreciate investment and savings.
