Dawa Industrial City, Ghana’s largest industrial enclave, in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands & Natural Resources has planted 5,000 trees across the Tema Free Zones enclave and the Dawa Industrial Zone as part of the Green Ghana Day initiative.
Dawa Industrial City is a world-class flagship industrial one-stop-shop for both local and international firms. The enclave has a dedicated 132MVA substation with a 99% uptime record with stable and reliable 24/7 power.
Additionally, it has a dedicated water supply station, well-constructed asphalted roads with streetlights, as well as ultra-fast fibre broadband Internet and data facilities.
The tree-planting exercise took place recently and attracted participation from major blue-chip industrial brands like Cargill, Barry Callebaut, 3F Agility, Toyota Ghana, Bounge Loders, Octoglow, ILDC, Ghana Free Zones Authority andCIMAF.
The Country Manager of 3F Ghana Ltd., Mr. Duvva Padmakar, also lauded the tree-planting exercise as an exemplary project to support the ecosystem of Ghana. He also indicated that the infrastructural amenities provided at Dawa Industrial Zone and Tema Meridian Industrial Zone have positioned Ghana as an industrial hub of choice for investors globally.
He encouraged investors who have plans of setting up in Ghana and rest of the AfCFTA regions to choose Dawa Industrial Zone.
The Head of Operations at the Dawa Industrial City, Mrs. Christine Akuffo, in an address, indicated that the Dawa enclave is well-positioned to host light and heavy industries across multi-sectors – such as the agro-processing, garments and textiles, logistics, metal fabrication and automobile sectors, among others.
The tree-planting exercise by Dawa Industrial City, she noted, is the company’s way of contributing to the environment to reduce its carbon footprint.
