Thirty-two Greatest Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives have been honoured at this year’s Virtual Ghana Entrepreneurs and corporate Executives Awards 2021. It was organised by Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana, on the theme ‘Promoting Entrepreneurship Excellence for Sustainable Economic Development in the Post-pandemic transformation’, telecast on TV3 Network and streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
This year’s virtual awards marked the eleventh edition of Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executive Awards which honour Ghana’s Greatest Entrepreneurs of all Time; Outstanding Entrepreneurs of the Decade; Outstanding Entrepreneurs of the Year 2020; and Corporate Executives of the Year 2020.
The Virtual Special Guests were Kathleen Csaba, Canadian High Commissioner; Lim Jung-Taek, Korean Ambassador; and Ms. Grace Jeanet Mason, South African High Commissioner.
The Ghana Entrepreneur & Corporate Executive Awards Gala is to honour entrepreneurs and corporate executives who have had significant and positive impact on society, built a legacy and demonstrated Entrepreneurial and Corporate Leadership, Sustained Business Performance, Integrity, Corporate Vision and Innovation. The award focuses on the success of Entrepreneurs and Corporate executives such as Founders, Executive Chairmen, Board Chairpersons, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers and Country Directors.
Entries for the Ghana’s Greatest Entrepreneur of All Time award included Dr. Felix Kweku Anyah, Founder & Executive Chairman-Holy Trinity Medical Centre; and Mr. Parshotam G. Aidasani, Chairman-Jay Kay Industries and Investments Ltd.
Several other Entrepreneurs were honoured, with the Overall Best Entrepreneur of the Decade award given to Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Founder and Executive Chairman-Jospong Group of Companies; while the Overall Best Woman Entrepreneur of the Decade was given to Mrs. Patricia Poku-Diaby, CEO-Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited.
The rest were Dr. Kwaku Oteng, Founder & CEO-Angel Group Of Companies, Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Decade; Mr. Mukesh V. Thakwani, CEO-B5 Plus Group, Iconic Industrialist of the Decade; Mr. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, Executive Chairman-Kina Group Of Companies, Outstanding Entrepreneur Personality of the Decade; Mr. Collins Okley Otoo, CEO-Nungua Warehouse Group of Companies, Outstanding Business Executive of the Decade; Mr. Pawan Aidasani, CEO-Jay Kay Industries and Investments Ltd., Outstanding CEO of the Decade; Dr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, Group Chairman-CDH Group, Outstanding Business Leader of the Decade; Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder & CEO-Rigworld Group, Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2020; Mr. Charles Antwi-Boahen, Managing Director-Kab-Fam Ghana Ltd., Outstanding Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award 2020; Mrs. Patience Tsegah, Managing Director-Unicom Chemist Limited, Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur of the Decade; Mr. Richard Nii-Armah Quaye, CEO-Quick Angels Ltd., Outstanding CEO of the Year Award 2020 and Outstanding Financial Services Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2020.
Other Award Winners are: Mr. Dhiraj Lakhiani, CEO-Blow Group of Companies, Outstanding Beverage Manufacturing CEO of the Decade; Mr. Steve Ocloo, Managing Director-Nkulenu Industries Ltd., Outstanding Food-Processing Entrepreneur of the Decade. Mr. Nour Seklaoui, Managing Director-Electroland Ghana Ltd., Outstanding Electricals and Electronics Entrepreneur of the Decade; Madam Salma Salifu, Managing Director-Dignity DTRT Ltd., Outstanding Apparel Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2020; and Mr. Kofi Addo-Agyekum, CEO-Kofikrom Pharmacy Limited, Outstanding Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2020.
For the Corporate Executives of the Year Award 2021, the Overall Best CEO of the Year Award 2020 was bestowed on Mr. Alfred Baku, Executive Vice President and Head of Gold Field West Africa Gold Fields Ghana Ltd.; Nana Abra –Appiah, Board Chairman, Consolidated Bank Ghana Mr. Kwame Osei Prempeh, Managing Director & Group CEO-GOIL Company Ltd, Outstanding Group CEO of the Year 2020; Mrs. Freda Duplan, Board Chairperson-Zenith Bank Ghana Limited, Outstanding Corporate Personality of the Decade; Mr. Mahesh Shah, Managing Director-De United Foods Industries Gh Ltd., Outstanding Food And Agro –Processing CEO of the Year Award 2020; Mrs. Florence Larbi, Chief Operating Officer, Environment And Sanitation Group, Outstanding Managing Director of the Year Award 2020.
