Provident Insurance Company Limited has supported the Country-Side Children’s Welfare Home through Feed Needy Foundation with stationaries, personal protective equipment (PPE) and an amount of GH¢5,000 at Awutu Bawjiase in the Central Region.

The donation was done as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programme.

According to Eric Agbozo, Marketing Manager of Provident Insurance Company: “We believe that the company’s contribution to development of the country doesn’t end with only tax payment, but also by extending support to the less endowed within the area you operate.

“As a corporate citizen, Provident believes that the company’s contribution to development of the country must not be limited to the paying of taxes, but also by deliberately and directly assisting the needy in communities within which we operate – hence this donation to the Country-side Children’s Welfare Home through this NGO – Help the Needy Foundation,” he said.

Mr. Agbozo further stated that this is not the first and will also not be last time they are supporting Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in such an endeavour, and there is a whole-year plan in giving back to society.

He frowned on the act of stigmatisation and urged others to see both the community and the less-privileged ones as part of themselves.

“The community and less-privileged must be seen as part of us and not be stigmatised,” he advised.

Among the items donated were included books, pencils, whiteboard markers, Indomie noodles, nose masks, sanitisers and others, plus a cash sum of GH¢5,000.

The items were received by Feed Needy Foundation, and they expressed their profound gratitude to the company for such support.

“We would like to express our profound appreciation for this kind of gesture from Provident Insurance Company Ltd. This is the first of its kind, and we are most grateful that the help didn’t come from anywhere but from Provident Insurance Company Limited,” the Foundation noted.

Feed Needy Foundation therefore called on other stakeholders and organisations to also and come and support whenever they reach out to them.

“We want to use this opportunity to appeal to other institutions to be ready to offer us the needed support when we approach them.”

Present at the event with Mr. Agbozo was Clement Appiah-Kyei – Marketing Officer; Mrs. Veronica Ainooson – Executive Secretary; Linda Owusuwaa – HR Department; Mabel Oduma Osei – Marketing; and Ben Acheampong – Driver.
