B&FT appoints new Business Development Manager

The Business and Financial Times (B&FT), Africa’s leading provider of business information, has appointed Saviour Tamakloe as its new Business Development Manager (BDM).

Saviour, a consummate and accomplished marketing professional, joins the B&FT with over 20 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing and territory management primarily in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Agriculture and Non-Profit Social Enterprise (NGO) sectors.

He also has expertise in performance management, monitoring and evaluation, public relations, third-party distributor management, client relationship, market development, Operations, Route-to-Market (RTM) as well as Route-to-Consumer (RTC) execution. He is joining the B&FT at a time the company is resilient and working at expanding its operations in the sub-region.

Saviour holds a Master of Philosophy in Business Administration-Marketing from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology Business School in Kumasi

About Saviour Tamakloe

Saviour’s most recent role before joining the B&FT was with KickStart International Ghana as Director of Partnership and Sales for West Africa, where he successfully developed business relationships with both local and international partners. He also had numerous training programmes on usage, demonstration and maintenance of pumps with partners and farmers across the sub-region. He was instrumental in developing and implementing sales, marketing and distribution strategies, and ensured the use of CRM for each operational country with country managers in Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

He also worked as the Sales and Marketing Manager-West Africa for Crocodile Matchets Ghana Limited, where he contributed in achieving close to 90 percent market share for Crocodile Machets within the region, and supported management and other teams in rebranding Crocodile Machets.

Prior to the above, he had considerable years of experience with the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, with opportunities at the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, Unilever Ghana Limited and Wilmar Africa Limited in various positions.

“I believe my past experience has built me up for this role. This is the biggest brand you can contact for business-related information dissemination and event organisation. I am here to help place the B&FT brand at the next level, and also help strengthen its roots in the country and expand to other countries in the sub-region,” Saviour said.

He added that: “I am not here for B&FT only; I am here for existing clients that do business with the B&FT and potential ones as well. The pandemic has negatively impacted businesses, but we still must find innovative ways of supporting ourselves – not only to sustain business operations, but also grow to support the economy”.

Dr. Godwin Acquaye, Chief Executive Officer of the B&FT, noted that with Saviour’s experience and expertise gathered over more than two decades it is an honour to have him join the growing team at the B&FT as Head of Business Development.
