The Kokrokoo Charities Project 100 Foundation has held its first draw to raise funds to support the purchasing of hundred (100) incubators to support various hospitals across the country.
The project, which started with four incubators, has now increased to 35 and still looking forward to add more to save lives.
The raffle which was organised by the foundation was christened ‘Drive and Save a Life’ as it was honored with a Toyota Starlet for the ultimate winner in the final draw.
According to leader of the foundation and host of Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Kwame Sefa Kai, Toyota Ghana stepped in to support with the Toyota Starlet hoping that, it generates enough funds for the foundation.
“Toyota Ghana says take this car, add it to whatever prizes in the raffle you intend to do, let’s hope it would generate enough,” he stated.
Recounting how the whole idea of providing 100 incubators to the various hospitals came up, Mr. Sefa Kai said, it was first a kidney Centre they intended putting up but that has already been achieved.
“Initially we had done something like trying to raise funds to set up a kidney Centre, and that had been done” he said.
He also added that, another challenge that almost made them give up was funding.
“Initially we said we are going to do a hundred, it was tough but at a point we almost gave up because it was difficult to get funding, it was difficult to get people to support, and some thought we were crazy” he noted.
Addressing the media after the event, he said the foundation will hold a second draw in 3 months later.
He added that the final draw will continue later for the ultimate winner to drive home the Toyota Starlet provided by Toyota Ghana.
He also called on individuals, corporate organisations and the general public to contribute towards this worthy course to help save lives by dialing *713*70# to donate any amount which also qualifies participants for the draw.
“We are hoping that individuals, corporate entities and anybody else who want to contribute, would be very much appreciated to come on board” he said.
The ten selected people who participated in the draw took home prices like pressing iron, standing fan and other gadgets.
