Purple Park unveils affordable apartments to address housing deficit

Purple Park, the real estate arm of Spektra Global Limited, has unveiled an affordable housing unit dubbed Seed Gate, with the ultimate objective of addressing housing deficit in the country.

The Seed Gate apartments, located at Tema Community 25, comes in two to three bedrooms detached and semi-detached designs, giving prominence to security, functionality, space and access to social amenities.

Targeted at the middle-income class, the concept adopted advanced technology to provide sustainable solutions featuring plush landscapes, high speed internet connections, smart automation systems and other modern housing amenities that provides convenience for home owners.

Chief Executive Officer, Spektra Ltd, William Evans Halm, indicated that the motive behind Purple Park’s Seed Gate initiative is to change the status quo that even middle-class citizens cannot complete and move into their own apartment until they go on retirement due to the outrageous cost of building and difficulty to access mortgage, as such the facility comes at an affordable rate compared to similar constructions within same categories and comes with a mortgage plan as well.

“So, my faith in the bible tells me that everything starts as a small seed, hence this our first housing community is termed as the seed gate hoping that with this, we will expand and be able to provide more affordable housing for the people of Ghana,” he said

The Chief Operations Officer, Spektra Global, Karen Evans Halm, stated that having operated in the real estate industry for over a decade, they have identified all the challenges people face in trying to acquire a home and the complains that come with it. Therefore, Purple Park has been strategically positioned to be a one stop solution to all the challenges individuals has encounter in the past.

Ghana needs in excess of 100,000 housing units annually to meet the current demand as research data from the Ghana Statistical Service indicates a deficit of over two million housing units.

According to Mrs. Halm, Purple Park will continue to expend its housing initiative steadily to ensure that middle income citizens seeking for decent homes are able to achieve their goals as well as reduce housing deficit gradually.
