APL, UML leads the way

Auto Parts Limited (APL) and Universal Motors Limited (UML) are two of the leading companies in Ghana with dealerships of the world’s most prestigious automobile brands and have a common ownership and management.  It all began when Auto Parts Limited became the first company to engage in the sale of Spare Parts in Ghana in 1938,  and eventually won the first authorized dealership for Nissan in Ghana in 1959.

This was followed by Universal Motors Limited, which in 2005, became the sole authorised distributor of Volkswagen cars and parts in Ghana. In 2011, the Porsche Centre was launched also under the umbrella of Universal Motors Limited, thereby further expanding the number of brands in the UML family.

Together, these companies constitute a major contributor to the Ghanaian economy, providing employment for hundreths as well as internship opportunities for those interested in enhancing their professional development.

AUTO PARTS LIMITED (APL)

Currently, Auto Parts Limited, the oldest company within the group,  sells a range of Nissan vehicles intended to satisfy the different customer needs of the Ghanaian market and beyond. The model range includes the Nissan Patrol, Pathfinder, X-Trail, Qashqai, Kicks, Altima, Sentra, Almera, Micra, Hardbody, Civilian, Urvan, and Cabstar.

In addition, Auto Parts Limited boasts of an 80-bay workshop,  a combined workforce of experienced engineers and technicians and outstanding Nissan technology. With these, Auto Parts offers effective sales and servicing to thousands of clients in Ghana and within the sub region.

APL has a showroom on the Graphic road while maintaining  offices and an After Sales Service centre on the Klan Street, North Industrial Area, Accra.

The company is also the official distributor of Mercury Outboard Motors, SnapOn Tools, Quicksilver Boats and Accessories in Ghana and offers effective After Sales support to a wide range of clients who patronize its services for business or leisure.

UNIVERSAL MOTORS LIMITED (UML)

Universal Motors Ltd, the second company within the group is the sole authorized distributor for Volkswagen vehicles in Ghana. Since 2005, the company has launched several Volkswagen models and has a significant market share.  UML has been behind the huge popularity that the German brand has gained in Ghana. The company offers a large range of Volkswagen vehicles for sale. UML vehicle sales are reinforced by After Sales Service continuously updated and supported by Volkswagen head office in Germany.

UML’s vision to be the leader in the Ghanaian vehicle distribution market is supported by a professional and human centred team, who strive to deliver customer service that exceeds the wildest expectation of our clients.

Currently, UML, in partnership with Volkswagen Group, has established an assembly plant in Ghana which came into operation recently. Our Ghanaian assembled models include: Polo (Hatchback), Passat (Saloon), Tiguan (4×4), Teramont (7-seater/ station wagon), Amarok (Pick Up).

Universal Motors Limited replicated its success with the prestigious Porsche franchise, becoming the sole distributor in Ghana for  the brand since 2009. In 2011, the company launched the Porsche Centre Accra, a facility that fully complies with Porsche’s highest International Corporate Standards.

The Centre has since unveiled quite a number of models, including the Panamera, Macan, Cayenne, 911 Targa and 718 Boxster/ Cayman.  At the Porsche Centre Accra highly qualified car repair technicians provide exceptional service in a timely manner. From oil change to transmission replacement as well as body repairs, the centre is dedicated to maintaining a top tier customer service for both new and pre-owned car buyers.
